"When you realize that a beautiful interior has very little to do with objects and a whole lot to do with spirit, general well being and upliftment you find the soul of interior design. If you have respect for your surroundings and everything has it's perfect place you interact with your world differently you carry yourself differently. My father used to say that the state of your surroundings is the state of your mind. Look around your home, let your home be the foundation of your aspiration."

Etsy find

Hi Peeps,  You've got to check out these amazing clay pieces created by artist Heather Knight.  They have great texture and come in variety of forms found in nature.  They are absolutely stunning!

Yet another pair of vintage chairs

I asked your opinion on two vintage chairs that I was going to purchase and then reupholster.  You can see the chairs here.  By the time I pay for shipping, fabric and labour they would be too much.  I have a whole living room to redo so I need to be a little more practical!  I just found these chairs and they are a lot less money.  And when I say a lot less I mean substantially less.  I would love your thoughts on these babies!  I have decided to use the Trina Turk orange fabric pictured below.  I would also reupholster them without the skirt.  Am I losing my mind or do these have some great potential?

I love how one side is taller than the other

Shopping!

I was lucky enough to be vacationing in Palm Springs at the same time Tory Burch was opening at the Premium Outlet Mall in Palm Desert.  I couldn't have planned it better myself:)  I picked up a cute pair of flats and a gorgeous belt.  Happy Friday!

Waiting patiently for my shoe size, it was shoe mayhem! (The girl behind me wasn't amused either)

 Finally!

Colourful spaces

These rooms are so lively and inviting.  Inject a little colour in your space this spring by adding simple things like pillows, art or accessories.  This is the perfect time of year to change things up!

A new project I'm working on

I just wrapped up a family room/kitchen nook for a wonderful client and now we are setting our sights on her living room/dining room.  I always like to put a mood board together for a client so they can see the direction I'm going in and whether or not we are on the same page.  It gives us a starting point to work from.  Sometimes the design turns out exactly how we plan and other times it changes and evolves into something different along the way.  I love the process and it's always exciting to see how everything comes together.

Chairs to die for

So I have come across these gorgeous vintage chairs in all their glory.  These are the kind of chairs you would have forever and what would be considered true investment pieces.  I love mixing vintage with new and these are right up my alley.  I love the original fabric but I am told they will need to be reupholstered.  My question to you is do I pick a neutral fabric or do I go with a pattern?  I am torn on this one.  Any thoughts?

Something neutral?

Neutral geometric?

And last but not least if I go with a colour I'm leaning towards orange
